The Hy-Lok venting valves serve for controlled discharge of the system medium into a designated system or to the atmosphere.

Venting valves – BLV Series

Application

Hy-Lok venting valves are used on devices through which instrument medium flows, e.g. on manifolds, pressure gauge shut-off valves or shut-off valves in order to relieve (bleed) the pressure in the signal line to the atmosphere before an instrument is removed, or to simplify the calibration of control devices.

Pressure relief from the signal line

Hy-Lok BLV Series venting valves allow controlled pressure relief from the pipework system. A stop screw prevents the undesirable removal of the spindle. The BLV Series valves are available in stainless steel, carbon steel or Alloy 400.

Pressure: up to 689 bar (10,000 psi) at 37 °C (100°F)
Temperature: from -54°C to 454°C (-65°F to 850°F) (for stainless steel 316)
Materials: Stainless steel 316, carbon steel or Alloy 400

  • Various connections (NPT, SAE)
  • Standard venting pipe with 6 mm outside diameter
  • Special options: Spindle with hexagonal head, nipple drain pipe

  • Nitrogen at 69 bar (1000 psi) with a max. leak rate of 0.1 Ncm³/min
  • Optional hydrostatic test of the housing with 1.5 times permissible working pressure
  • Other tests on demand

Venting valves – PV Series

Application

Hy-Lok PV Series venting valves serve for the manual discharge of excess liquids or gases from system lines via the relief bore in the knurled cap.

Discharge of excess media

The PV Series venting valves allow manual bleeding or draining of the pipework system. For safety reasons, the knurled cap cannot be removed from the valve housing. Venting valves are available in stainless steel, carbon steel or brass.

Pressure: up to 275 bar (4,000 psi) at 38°C (100°F) and standard opening element of SS316 (for stainless steel 316)
Temperature: from -54°C to 315°C (-65°F to 600°F) (for stainless steel 316)
Materials: Stainless steel 316, carbon steel or brass

  • Various inlet end connections (Hy-Lok compression fitting, NPT male and female thread, pipe socket, etc.)
  • Special options: PTFE opening element
